Becoming Real aka Toby Ridler first started making music in the suburbs of South London in 2010. He forged his own mesmerising take on first wave grime and quickly caught the imagination of the music world.
Following on from his initial success came The Spectre EP. Featuring guest vocals from enigmatic grime artist MC Trim the ghostly production received positive reviews from national press. This also caught the attention of Jamie Woon who asked to work with Toby and went on to create the unforgettable remix for his Night Air single.
2012 looks set to be a big year for Becoming Real and has kicked off with a collaboration with hot young producer Dam Mantle. Once again the music is taking steps in to new territories in the form of a broader and warmer sound. With some exciting vocal collaborations being discussed, Becoming Real is poised for an exciting future, leaving us in expectant anticipation for his mini album scheduled for release in May.
